I can never make sence of computer.. not my fault!! i'm just one of those who just cant!! fortunately i have computer classes this sem.. well helps here n there lah but.. .. .. y got so many short forms??? i mean come on!! who's gonna rememebr wat ISP, PCX, TIFF, EBCDIC, FTP, EFT, RFID, ISDN, BSA, POP and so on stands for??? oh btw i noticed that POP can be either Post Office Protocol or Point of Presence.. AAHHHH!! btw wat's the diff between ethernet, internet and extranet? that day test question came out n i got all mixed up!! n i still dono the diff between spoofing and phishing!! so many question marks on top of my head now!! beh tahan!!
oh well at least i learn alot, not so com illiterate anymore (abel complain he's the only com literate person at home, have to teach all of us, cis!! dowan mah dowan loh!!).. anyway as i read my com notes i came across some very funny stuff.. any1 knows wat PGP stands for? Pretty Good Privacy.. haha i'm not too Pretty sure if i wanna trust that program anot!! besides that, r u a com addict? if u r, u should have these symptoms:
1) craves com time
2) overjoyed when at the com
3) unable to stop com activity
4) neglects family and friends
5) problems at work or school
well for sure win shean is 1 of them!! everytime i c him, he'll be talking bout com games only.. according to him his life is all bout games!! but unfortunately he's only allowed 1 hour of "life" a week!! (mummy's da boss!!) haha poor thing..

ISP = Internet Service Provider, the company that offers our internet services - Streamyx is this case
TIFF = Tagged image file format, is a type of picture format like jpeg, which btw stands for "Joint Photographic Experts Group" Hahaha! more commonly used for designers working with print.
PCX - not sure what it stands for but its another type of image format used a decade ago but rarely used now.
ISDN - Integrated Services Digital Network, a type of broadband service. Tmnet used to offer it until we had streamyx. streamyx broadband service is ADSL (assymetrical digital subscriber line). more abbrevations? hehe
FTP - File transfer protocol, a connection access to transfer files between computer and a server.
POP - you already know this, but it usually refers to point office protocol, which is related to your email.
RFID - radio frequency something..
the rest i don't know. you can always check out wikipedia.com btw. hahaha!
For the rest, as far as I know:
Spoofing - the act of imitating another person's identity. it's a very general term though.
Phishing - to steal crucial information such as Credit card number or passwords by pretending to be a legitimate online business requestion your information.
ethernet - a local network which connects many computers together such as in a company
internet - many other computer networks connected together
extranet - not too sure
should i add in intranet in there too? haha. once again.. you can always use wikipedia.com to help :P
