who's the 1st disciple?

have been reading john's gospel for awhile now n i've found out many interesting facts so far, particularly bout the 12 disciples.. then out f curiosity i started wondering, who was Jesus' 1st official disciple whom He called to follow Him? all these while i thought it was peter, then as i read john1:35-51 i thought it was andrew (then i read peanut's blog n got his opinion that it was andrew also), but as i read on n compared with the other 3 gospels, i found out something different (i might be wrong ya peanut).. ok in the explanation will try my best to put everything in chronological order ya :) my brain's in a mess now so try to bear with me k

did u know.. .. .. (ok if u alr knew, just read on n entertain me lah) john the baptist had 2 particular disciples who eventually followed Jesus? andrew n another 1's not named.. but seeing the way john writes this gospel with full humility, not even mentioning his name, it's quite possible that the other fellow is john himself.. but this is just a MAYBE ya.. in john1:39, Jesus told them (andrew n the other guy) to come n c the place He was staying, n the 1st thing andrew did was to bring his brother peter to Jesus, then they spent the day together (whether peter was there with them the whole day anot i'm not too sure though).. the next day Jesus found philip n said "Follow Me" (which He didn't say the pervious day to any of them) then philip called nathanael n so on.. so technically andrew (and possibly john) could or could not be Jesus' 1st followers.. well it depends on how the reader interpretes it i guess.. but i dont think they r the 1st disciples Jesus called because these happened before john the baptist was put in prison.. n if we compare with the other gospels like mark1:14-20, Jesus was by the sea of galilee/gennesaret where He officially called peter, andrew, james n john to follow Him when they were fishing (this happened after john the baptist was in prison) so i'm guessing that at the 1st situation, andrew, peter (n possibly john) probably had the whole day to listen Jesus' teachings and believed but weren't ready to follow Him yet.. peter especially still had issues of him being a sinful man (luke 5:8) maybe that's y Jesus didn't ask them to follow Him yet.. so i wouldn't consider 2 or 3 of them Jesus' 1st disciples but maybe philip should be the 1st? (i'm open for discussion bout his ya) n anyway if peter, andrew (n possibly john) had followed Jesus in the 1st place, they would'nt have gone back fishing again rite?

oh btw it's also interesting to note the relationships between these 4 fishermen.. in luke5:1-11, the author explains that peter n andrew r brothers, n that they are fishing patners with the brothers james n john.. both their boats were next to each other.. so these 4 must have been very close buddies then.. n if i get this correctly, andrew n john are fellow followers of john the baptist so they must have alr been anticipating the coming of the promised Messiah and shared this news with their brothers respectively.. n i've always wondered how those fishermen could have such faith to just drop everything at that instance to follow Jesus.. now i know that God was alr preparing them through the teachings of john the baptist and both times when Jesus spent with them in john1:39 n luke5:1-3 where Jesus was teaching the crowds from their boat.

my conclusion is, our God is such a great Author!! though in 1 gospel the story may seem to have missing pictures, we can always find the missing puzzles somewhere else.. add them all together, we have the complete Word of God.. although many men of God throughout the ages, fr different backgrounds contributed to the writing of the Bible, it never contradicts itself because at the end of the day, they were all inspired by the same Holy Spirit.. praise be to the 1 who has the Words of eternal life!! john6:68

ps, if u havent been reading ur Bible lately, well God may be saying to u now.. "OPEN UR BIBLE N READ!!)
